Privacy Policy

Last updated: June 2026  ·  Dwello Australia  ·  dwello.au@gmail.com

This policy explains what personal information we collect, why, how we handle it, and your choices. We handle your personal information in line with the Australian Privacy Principles (APPs) under the Privacy Act 1988 (Cth).

1. What we collect

When you use Dwello, we may collect:

  • Your contact details — your name and email address (so we can send your report).
  • Property details — the property address, property type, and approximate age you enter.
  • Your photos and notes — the images you capture and any comments you add. These photos may incidentally contain personal information or images of people, possessions, or surroundings.
  • How you heard about us — if you tell us.
  • Basic technical data — standard information your device or browser sends when you use a website (for example, general device and usage data).

Please only submit photos you're entitled to take and share, and avoid capturing other people or their personal information where you can (see our Terms of Use).

2. How we collect it

We collect this information directly from you when you use the app and submit a report request.

3. Why we collect it and how we use it

We use your information to:

  • Generate and deliver your report — including processing your photos and notes to produce the analysis.
  • Operate, secure, and improve the Service — for example, checking cases where the analysis didn't work well so we can fix them.
  • Contact you about your report or the pilot.

We will not use your information for unrelated purposes without your consent.

4. How your photos are processed (and where)

To generate your report, your photos and the details you provide are sent to third-party service providers that we use to run the Service:

  • An AI provider — Anthropic (Claude API) processes your photos and notes to produce the analysis in your report.
  • A hosting and storage provider — Google (Drive and Sheets) stores your submission and report.

These providers may store or process your information outside Australia (for example, in the United States). By using the Service, you consent to this overseas processing. We take reasonable steps to use reputable providers, but we recommend you only submit photos you're comfortable being processed in this way.

5. We do not use your photos to train AI models

We do not use your photos or notes to train artificial-intelligence models. They are used to generate your report and to operate and debug the Service, as described above. If we ever want to use submitted content for model training, we will ask for your separate, explicit, opt-in consent first.

6. Who we share it with

We don't sell your personal information. We share it only:

  • with the service providers described in section 4, so they can perform their function for us;
  • where we're required or authorised by law; or
  • with your consent.

7. Storage and security

We take reasonable steps to protect your information from misuse, loss, and unauthorised access — including limiting who can access submissions. No system is perfectly secure, and we can't guarantee absolute security.

8. How long we keep it

We keep your information for as long as needed to provide and support the Service during the pilot, and to meet any legal obligations. You can ask us to delete your information at any time (see section 10) and we'll do so unless we're required to keep it.

9. Children

Dwello is not intended for anyone under 18, and we don't knowingly collect information from under-18s.

10. Accessing, correcting, or deleting your information

You can ask us to access, correct, or delete the personal information we hold about you. Contact us at dwello.au@gmail.com and we'll respond within a reasonable time. There's normally no charge.

11. Complaints

If you have a privacy concern, please contact us first at dwello.au@gmail.com and we'll try to resolve it. If you're not satisfied, you can contact the Office of the Australian Information Commissioner (OAIC) at oaic.gov.au.

12. Changes to this policy

We may update this policy from time to time. The "last updated" date at the top shows when it last changed. If we make a material change, we'll take reasonable steps to let you know.
